About Us

Two clinicians. One standard. Getting athletes back to full performance.

Physical Therapy Built for Athletes in South-Central Pennsylvania

Perform Strong PT was built on the belief that athletes deserve a higher standard of care. Not just pain management and a home exercise program, but a structured, performance-driven process with real milestones and a clear path back to competing

We work with competitive athletes, active adults, and anyone who refuses to accept "just learn to live with it" as an answer.
At Perform Strong PT, we don't just treat the injury, we help you navigate what comes next. Through strong working relationships with trusted local sports medicine physicians and surgeons, we help our patients skip the long waits and scheduling headaches often associated with specialist care. When you need a referral, we help get you in front of the right expert, faster.

Alex Gett – PT, DPT, CSCS, RSCC, USAW-1

Alex Gett (PT, DPT, CSCS, RSCC, USAW-1) founded Perform Strong PT after a career path that most clinicians don't have. Before earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2020, Alex served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Kansas City Royals Baseball Organization. That background in professional sports directly shapes how he approaches rehab: structured, data-driven, and built around performance, not just pain relief.

His clinical specialties include post-operative rehab for the shoulder and elbow, ACL reconstruction, overhead athlete care, and acute hamstring injuries. He holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the NSCA, and as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.

Alex authored "Performance Arm Care for the Overhead Athlete" in 2022 and hosts the Performance Rehabilitation and Strength Training Podcast, covering recovery strategies, industry trends, and performance training for athletes at every level.

Dr. Matt Kirchner (PT, DPT, SCS) earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Messiah University in 2022, completed a sports residency with Upstream Rehabilitation in 2023, and became a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist in 2024. The SCS is one of the most rigorous specialty certifications in the profession, and Matt earned it within two years of graduating.

His clinical focus includes post-operative case management, ACL reconstruction, knee and ankle injuries, acute sports injuries, and concussion rehabilitation. He has presented research on ACL rehabilitation at the Combined Sections Meeting, the national conference of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Before physical therapy, Matt spent four years as a strength and conditioning coach in collegiate, high school, and private settings, working with athletes from youth to professional. He played linebacker at Lock Haven University and currently volunteers coaching football and running the off-season weight room program at Central Dauphin High School.
